Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, who served
with their son, Lance Cpl. Jordan C. Haerter, a rifleman with
1/9, who was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for
extraordinary heroism while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The Marines of 1/9 traveled to Sag Harbor, N.Y. to participate
in the Second Annual Soldier Ride – The Hamptons, July 25, 2009,
which was dedicated this year to the memory of their fallen
brother, Lance Cpl. Jordan C. Haerter, to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
