Marines Place Doughnut Charge August 19, 2025 August 12, 2025 - A U.S. Marine places a doughnut charge as other ready armed Marines provide security during urban breaching training on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. The marines are with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing; 3rd Landing Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group; and 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. A doughnut charge is a loop of detonation cord used to destroy locked door handles. Combat engineers with MWSS-172 and 3rd LSB conducted urban breaching training to enhance mobility, survivability, and lethality in built-up environments by practicing explosive and mechanical entry techniques.
