Pilot Walks To F/A-18E On CVN 78 August 21, 2025
August 15, 2025 - U.S. Navy pilot Lt. Duke Kenner, assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 31, walks to a Carrier Air Wing 8 F/A-18E Super Hornet on the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) flight deck for takeoff to conduct flight operations. Gerald R. Ford, the world's largest aircraft carrier and deployed flagship of Carrier Strike Group Twelve is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations at an undisclosed Atlantic Ocean location to support the warfighting effectiveness, lethality and readiness of U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, and defend U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region.
