VW Vet Bill Buice With OA-1K Skyraider II April 5, 2025
April 3, 2025 - Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Bill Buice, a former A-1 Skyraider pilot, in front of the new OA-1K Skyraider II at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The OA-1K Skyraider II takes its name from the A-1 Skyraider, which Buice flew in in the Vietnam War from June 1967 - July 1968 before being shot down, forcing him to medically retire. The OA-1K Skyraider II is a new, flexible, cost-effective crewed aircraft adaptable to deliver capabilities in support of defense priorities.
